The National Park Service announced D.C.’s cherry trees have reached “Puffy White” stage, just ahead of peak bloom expected between March 28-31, 2025.

These iconic trees, gifted by Japan in 1912, symbolize the arrival of spring and attract millions of visitors to the Tidal Basin and National Mall each year.

The blossoms, especially the Yoshino variety, create a short-lived yet magical scene, with weather playing a key role in the duration of peak bloom.

Top viewing spots include the Tidal Basin, Jefferson Memorial, and hidden gems like Dumbarton Oaks and Anacostia Park.
